High Noon Saloon & Brewery - Leavenworth, KS

206 Choctaw St.
Leavenworth, KS 66048

Paul & I's first Brewery as a married couple!
On Tuesday, September 11th, we were on our way back from KC & decided to detour to Leavenworth for some ole main street shopping. Which they have a cute little shop (unfortunately, the name is escaping me) & some great antique stores. We also enjoyed some ice cream at an old time soda fountain pharmacy. I had banana & Paul had a coffee fudge cone...delicious!
The important stuff came during late lunch: BEERS!
When Paul & I visit a brewery we try 'em all. We also just happened to show up for happy hour. $1.50 per mini glass!
The results:
Paul

  • Favorite: Oktoberfest
  • Comments: Second favorite would be the Stampede Stout for sure. The food (which he had chicken fried chicken) was amazing! Prices were great too. Highly recommend it.

Alicia

  • Favorite: Oregon Trail Raspberry Wheat - "Tastes like juice"
  • Comments: I also like the Oktoberfest & Stout. Which me liking a stout is a big deal, I'm an amber or light beer gal. Food wise, I had the meat loaf & green beans, fabulous! We also enjoyed some fried pickles for an appetizer. They have the spear kind. Great batter & awesome Ranch dressing (Ranch is my ketchup, I would've drank this one). The environment was nice too. Looked like it could hold a lot of people & would be a good time in the evening.
    • Note: wherever Paul & I go, if there's pickles on the menu, we order them! Huge pickle lovers. If you know a place, suggest it.
Overall, it was a great place with great beer. 3 of the Beers (Amber ale, raspberry wheat, & honey wheat) are sold in cans &/or you're able to purchase any in a growler (a half gallon bottle). If you're in the area definitely stop by after supporting the local main street stores.

~ Cheers! ~

The Letter Jacket

For those of you unable to attend 'the wedding of the century' you missed out on a pretty great moment.
See after everyone chowed on some down home Gettel pulled pork. My lovely sister, Tess, gave her speech - I cried. She cried & did excellent, really surprised me! Then Paul's best man, best friend, Garrick, gave us a laugh & admitting to a garage accident at Paul's parents place back in the day (which Paul has taken the fall for all these years). After our toast, Paul's parents got up to the mike with a box & began speaking about Paul's past, high school, & the girls that haven't been good enough for him. His mom was quick to tell me "It's okay, I promise the speech is getting better." At that time they began to open the box, meanwhile saying "Then we met Alicia, and believe she is the first girl who deserves this." There it was, the royal blue & white Dundee high school letter jacket. Then the tears began to roll. Paul & I had no clue this was going to happen. Afterwards, I put on the coat & gave my little "well, that's enough of the tears. Now, lets get the party started..."

One of our favorite wedding photos!

It includes some of the best family & friends. Is the shape of a heart. Has the 'Mr & Mrs Wittkop' sign in the background. I'm picturing a canvas photo in my living room!

Paul & Alicia got hitched!

With that, a new blog... one of the new little Wittkop family.
We hope you stick around to enjoy our stories, photos, DIYs... and if you have any suggestions or amazing foods to eat, places to see, or beers to test... Paul & I are always up for a challange!

This is probably one of our favorite moments of the evening. The DJ was heading out (around 1:15am) &
he played Paul & I's first dance song, Kyle Bennett Bands "Everything To Lose"
Meanwhile, everyone that was left circled around us & danced away
